Error 51 on launch — the game will not start

The game refuses to start and shows error 51. Reported in English, Russian, Italian and Ukrainian threads from early September 2026 onward.

What is actually going on

This is the single most-reported launch failure. Players who had the game running on an earlier patch report it appearing after an update.

What to try

  1. Verify the game files in Steam first — that is what the community advice points at.
  2. Allow the game through your antivirus, or add an exception for its folder.
  3. Update your GPU driver, and make sure you are on the current patch — the September releases were bug-fix patches.
  4. ⚠️ Do not run the circulating “error 51 fix”. The Russian community guide that claims to fix it does not describe a fix at all — it hands you an unsigned .exe via a Google Drive link. We have not tested it and we do not link it. Running an unknown executable to fix a game error is a good way to lose more than your save file.
  5. Report it on the discussion board with your patch version and GPU so it can be reproduced.
