The five islands
How to Fish runs on a fixed chain: five main islands, each gated behind an NPC task or a boss. On top of those, random islets spawn between them and change as you sail back and forth.

Island by island
1. Lighthouse
Collect clams and hand them (hold Q) to the keeper for cash. Buy a Beer for 12 coins, give it to the keeper to get the empty can that summons boss #1.
2. Forest
Two NPCs: one trades a boss lure for 3 leeches, one buys your catch. Spamming left-click with the new rod lands fish faster.
3. Desert
The tourist trades a boss lure for rare fish (Needlefish, Seahorse, aquarium fish). The grill NPC unlocks cooking, which adds +1.5x to fish value.
5. Volcano
Hand 5 creatures to the hazard-suit scientist for the Fish Bucket. Late-game money maker: catch snails by the lava and grill them in it — they fully heal.
—. Random islets
These spawn between islands and change as you sail back and forth. The Wishbone raises your chance of a drip creature and is upgraded with euros.
