Co-op & multiplayer
How to Fish is built for 1-4 players online. It is a friendslop game — most of the fun is what your friends do to you — so getting the lobby right matters.
Joining a game
Invites are by ID. You do not get a public server browser, and you cannot click a lobby to join. Community guides specifically cover "join by ID" because it is the single most common question.
Money is shared
Co-op uses a shared wallet. If one player spends badly, the whole crew feels it — and so does one player gambling it away. This is why money guides matter more in co-op than solo.
Known friction
- No public lobby browser. One of the most-upvoted requests in Steam reviews.
- Friendly fire is on. Most of the memorable reviews involve a friend killing everyone.
- Player count cap is 4.
