What is actually going on

This is an integer overflow, not a gambling bug. The variable holding your money has a maximum value; a payout big enough to exceed it wraps around to the largest negative number the game can store, and nothing checks for it.

What to try

  1. Selling fish still works and will slowly climb the number back up — one player confirmed this in the thread.
  2. Realistically that is a very long grind, so most players start a new save or restore money another way.
  3. Avoid staking a huge amount on the green sector in one go. The x35 payout is what pushes the total past the limit.
  4. If it has already happened: do not keep gambling. Betting again from a negative balance only makes it worse.
