Stuck loading, or you cannot host a game
You press play and the world never loads — or you get stuck in the opening boat ride and never arrive.

What is actually going on
The singleplayer path is the broken one right now: hosting singleplayer can leave you stuck in the boat sequence indefinitely. Going through multiplayer sidesteps it.
What to try
- Choose Host Game (multiplayer), not singleplayer.
- Set Invite to “Friends Only”.
- That combination loaded for the players who reported being stuck — confirmed in two separate replies in the same thread.
- One reply reports the opposite (only singleplayer working). If one way hangs, try the other — behaviour has changed between patches.
Where this comes from
Every step above is taken from player reports on the Steam discussion board — we did not test it ourselves, and the game has shipped six patches since launch, so behaviour can change. These are the threads:
